Movie:The Devil Wears Prada

The Devil Wears Prada certainly has not dulled my appetite. It is a comedy-drama film,a loose screen adaption of Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel of the same name.Despite of the critical reaction to the film as a whole was more mesuared,it still received a commercial success and won lots of ward nominations .Apart from the cascade of stars the very pretty Anne Hathaway, the always surperb Meryl Streep and the amazing co-star Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci ,the film’s another bright spot is their costume,as many designers did allow their clothes and accessories to be used in the film making it the most expensivly-costumed film in history.

The best thing about the film is the demanding, icy,career-obsessed Miranda who is editor-in chief of Runway Magzine. She not only demands absolutely obedience from her subodinates but also comands eccentric and humilitaing requests sometimes. To make it more intimidating, she never raises her voice above speaking level .
Yet the plot contrives to create a complex but true character hence the Miranda’s vulnerability scene is inevitable, leaving the audience a feeling of empathy. Then we see the compromises she has to make to get to the top and we see the effect on her personal life of these compromises. It’s toil to survive in a cut-throat competion, especielly for a woman.A eventual divorce was what she paid for work,Miranda let down her guards for the first time, tears warming her eyes.
PS:Of course here,I’m not again taking this chance to remind you the dilemma a woman will be confronted in her carreer persuit after marrige. But I do want to warn every aspiring young girls to be prudent of marrige.
You must think this following questions over and over and over:
Have you kown what familiy is about?
Have you been prepared for the responsibility you have to shoulder for your familiy even at the sacrifice of your career?
Have you been prepared for those unwanted compromises?
Perhaps somenone maybe give this answer:
Compromise, this is what we are always making till the end of life…
