A pair of sunglasses is one of the necessities for such hot summer.Apart from its function of protecting eyes against the ultraviolent rays,it’s one of women’s favourite accessory .With the creation of E-shades ,which is fitted with computer chips that can sense sunlight and darken accordingly,it seems that this clever shade has propel the sunglasses a step into the realm of science fiction.
E-shades,jointly developed by China,US and Canada,is a new generation of sunglasses that has been granted 15 invention patents and 5 application patents in China and US.Comparing with traditional sunglasses, they look no different.The only difference is that they contain a computer chip and the lenses are made of liquid crystal.Though traditional sunglasses do have colour lenses to screen off certain amount of radiation,the weakness is that the colour of lenses is not adjustable.Thus, a light-coloured lense cannot protect the eyes from harmful radiation and those with dark colours do filter away but may not protect eyes from diseases.E-shades,whereas, in this aspect, far overweight traditional sunglasses.They are controlled by computer chip and LCD technology and powered by solar cells.The computer chips can sense the intensity of sunlight and adjust the electricity voltage to change the lens colour and hence light trasmission.Wearers,therefore,can enjoy a clearer and comfortable vision.
Besides, the E-shades can alleviate eye fatigue by filtering away glare and irregular reflection,so are ideal for drivers.Even though a traditional sunglasses can defend the glare of sun,a driver’s vision is hindered somehow.I believe you may have this experience of wearing a pair of traditional sunglasses but hardly can tell the colour of traffic lights when driving.E-shades can free you from thouse troubles!
Scientists claims that this technology used in the E-shades will be applied in other fields ,such as the windows of a car and office buildings in orderto enhance a better life of human being.
